ABOUT THE STEWART CUP
Competitors in the Grand Prix Golf series will play for the Stewart Cup, named in honour of Formula 1® great, 3 x world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.
An icon of the sport, Sir Jackie has been a colourful part of Formula 1® for over 58 years and also has a long association with golf, having hosted the star studded Jackie Stewart Classic golf events in years gone by.
FAST PACED GOLF
Set over 12 holes of fast tracked golf, players will compete as individuals and in teams at selected locations around the world.
Points will be awarded to the top 10 individuals and teams of each event, in line with the system used in Formula 1® racing, to determine the Stewart Cup series champion.
RACE AGAINST DEMENTIA
50% of all prize money from the Stewart Cup Grand Prix Golf series will go to support Sir Jackie's foundation, Race Against Dementia. The remaining 50% of prize money will be awarded to the winning individual's and team's selected charity partners.
Race Against Dementia is a global charity, founded by Sir Jackie, to fund breakthrough and pioneering research into the prevention and cure of dementia.
Sir Jackie set up the charity after his beloved wife of 60 years, Lady Stewart, was diagnosed with dementia. The Flying Scot is now in the greatest race of his life as he fights to find a cure for dementia; bringing the famed precision and speed of problem-solving from Formula 1® to the world of scientific research.
Today, more than 55 million people around the world are living with dementia. Unless a cure is found, one in three people born today will die with dementia. A new person develops dementia every three seconds, this is the same amount of time it takes for an average Formula 1® pitstop.
Race Against Dementia is working faster and smarter to beat dementia.
